Every school in Parkrose has an ELL program. The goal of the district is to ensure that Limited English Proficient (LEP) students have access to the core curriculum and develop English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension. How a student receives ELL services depends on the age and the language development needs of the student. Classroom teachers have received training in sheltered instruction, a researched based strategy that supports learning for all students. Each building has an ELL teacher and instructional assistants dedicated to coordinating services for ELL students.
